Meet Rachel and Nassir. Both contracted Amyloidosis, a rare disease that causes toxic protein build-up in organs throughout the body. It can affect a variety of organs, including the heart, can onset quickly, and is often fatal if left untreated. Nassir’s case was caught quick enough and he survived; Rachel sadly passed away.
