About Ariane Vieira Scarlatelli Macedo, MD MHS PHD
Dr. Macedo is Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo. She is cardiologist and Chair of the cardio-oncology clinic at Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medicine, São Paulo, Brazil. She is the Chair of the Cardio-Oncology service at Americas Health Group and works as a researcher/faculty at BCRI (Brazilian Clinical Research Institute). Her clinical background includes MD and master in health sciences at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. and Ph.D in Translational Medicine at Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil. She is an active member of scientific organizations serving now as the Vice president of the Brazilian Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis. In 2019 she was certified to be a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and in 2021 got the certification in Cardio-Oncology by the International Cardio-Oncology Society. She is currently coordinating Post-Graduate curse in Cardio-Oncology at the Brazilian Clinical Research Institute providing a structured training in cardio-oncology in Brazil. She is also member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology Cardio Oncology serving as an editor assistant. She has extensive expertise in the cardiovascular area, focus on the cardiovascular effect of anti-cancer treatment, heart failure, thrombosis, and amyloidosis.
