About Barry Trachtenberg, MD
Dr. Barry H. Trachtenberg is a cardiologist specializing in heart failure, heart transplantation, and cardio-oncology, and amyloidosis. Dr. Trachtenberg received his B.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and attended medical school at the University of Texas-San Antonio. Dr. Trachtenberg completed his residency in internal medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine prior to his cardiology training at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
His clinical experience includes heart failure and heart transplantation, mechanical support pumps, cardiomyopathies, cardiac amyloidosis, and cardio-oncology. He has contributed to more than 80 publications related to advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, cardio-oncology, amyloidosis, and ventricular assist devices. Dr. Trachtenberg practices at Houston Cardiovascular Associates and is a member of the Houston Methodist J.C. Walter Transplant Center. He founded the Cardio-Oncology program at Houston Methodist Hospital and is a founding member of the Multidisciplinary Amyloidosis Working Group at Houston Methodist.
