About Cafer Zorkun, MD
Dr. Zorkun earned his MD from Istanbul University in 1989, followed by a residency in Hemodynamics and Angiocardiography at The John Paul II Hospital, Krakow, Poland. His international expertise is further supported by his involvement as a consultant and instructor in various international programs, and his post-doctoral research at Harvard Medical School. His early medical career included roles as an emergency physician in regional hospitals in Turkey, followed by consultant cardiologist positions in prestigious
institutions such as Mehmet Akif Ersoy Training and Research Hospital and Yedikule Chest Diseases & Surgery Hospital, where he also contributed to lung transplantation efforts. Contributions and Research: Dr. Zorkun has served on the editorial boards of several medical journals, including the Balkan Medical Journal, and played a crucial role in the development of
radiobiology programs at Trakya University. His research spans across CardioOncology, cardiac amyloidosis, and the integration of oncology with cardiovascular care.
