About Choon Ta NG, MBBS, FACC, FESC, FRCP
Singapore. Besides managing general cardiology conditions, he has subspecialty interests in cardio-oncology, advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathy and echocardiography. He believes in applying evidence-based medicine to achieve the best possible outcomes in patients.
After completing his medical training at the National University of Singapore (MBBS), Dr Ng subsequently obtained his Masters in Medicine (M Med), Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), United Kingdom and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). In recognition of his contributions to cardiology, he has been inducted as Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).
He is a fully-licensed cardiologist by the Ministry of Health specialist accreditation board in Singapore, and is accredited in the United States by ECFMG. He was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Health Singapore to pursue further training in cardio-oncology and cardiomyopathy at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic Rochester United States. Dr Ng is board-certified in cardio oncology by the International CardioOncology Society (ICOS), as well as accredited in echocardiography by both the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
Aside from clinical duties, Dr Ng takes a keen interest in education. He believes in inspiring and nurturing future generations of physicians and allied healthcare, and serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the Duke NUS Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and Alice Lee Centre of Nursing studies. Research is an important means to further enhance current treatment paradigms, and to advance medical science. Dr Ng serves an investigator for global clinical trials in heart failure, and has research interests in heart failure, cardio oncology, echocardiography and cardiomyopathy.
