Dr Israa Fadhil Yaseen is a cardiology clinical pharmacy Specialist at Baghdad Medical City in Baghdad, Iraq and a trainer at the Iraqi Scientific Council of Cardiology. She is the first American Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist (BCCP) in Iraq in 2020 and the first pharmacist to be a Fellow of American College of Cardiology (FACC) outside USA and Canada. Israa is a co-founder of Iraqi Cardio-Oncology Program (ICOP) in 2019 and one of the integral
team members at the cardio-oncology clinic in the country. She has been a member of the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology since 2018. Since 2015 to present, she is an investigator and data collection officer of six international registries of EurObservational Research Programme (EORP)/European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in Iraq, including (PPCM, Heart Failure III, ROPAC-II, ACS-STEMI, ROPAC-III, and NSTEMI). She is a World Heart Federation (WHF)
Emerging Leader in the cohort of 2021, and a reviewer in the European Heart Journal (EHJ). Her topics of interest and publications are mainly in the field of cardio-oncology and heart failure including CTRCD, PPCM, and HF. Israa is a co-author in the ESC quality indicators for the prevention and management of cancer therapy-related cardiovascular toxicities (CTR-CVT) which was published parallel with the 2022 ESC guidelines on cardio-oncology, co-author in the ICOP-Pharm Paradigm for the role of cardiology pharmacist in the cardio-oncology clinic which was published in the EHJ in 2022, and co-author in the book chapter of CTR-CVT in 2023 as a part of the modules releases by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy for the recertification of BCCP.
