About Rupal P. O'Quinn MD, MHCI, FACC
Rupal O'Quinn, MD, MHCI, FACC is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Director of Cardio-Oncology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center since July 2020. More recently, she was appointed the Director of the Penn Cardiology Fellowship Clinical Track at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Associate Program Director of the Penn Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program. Dr. O’Quinn joined the faculty at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2015, and specializes in the field of Cardio-Oncology, with clinical work and research centered on patients who have or had cancer and now have cardiovascular issues, especially by using workflows aimed at improving efficiency and decreasing burden on clinicians. Her other areas of specialization include multi-modality cardiovascular imaging that includes echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance. She is currently on the Research and Scientific Advisory Committee and Advocacy Committee of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS), as well as a member of the Health Care Innovation group and Cardio-Oncology Advocacy workgroup within the American College of Cardiology (ACC). She is the current Chair of the ACC-Apple Work group, providing leadership and guidance to the ACC Innovation Program and Apple regarding the use and interpretation of Apple cardiology-related digital solutions to support quality patient care. She is also an Innovation Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation.
Dr. O'Quinn completed a fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2015, where she focused on Cardio-Oncology. Prior to that, Dr. O'Quinn completed a General Cardiology Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Harvard University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts with a focus in non-invasive cardiology and cardiovascular imaging. She graduated from Penn with a Master of Health Care Innovation in May 2023.
Dr. O'Quinn completed her residency and chief medical residency at the University of Michigan Health Systems in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She attended medical school at the Rutgers Medical School/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and college at Boston University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
