The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a cardio-oncologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collegial cardiology faculty with internationally recognized expertise in clinical care, education, and research. We seek an individual with strong interest and demonstrated expertise in cardio-oncology, with a focus on the cardiovascular care of patients with cancer, cancer survivors, and those receiving potentially cardiotoxic cancer therapies.

This faculty member will:

  • Provide outstanding clinical care in cardio-oncology within the outpatient and inpatient settings at URMC.
  • Collaborate with oncology, hematology, and radiation oncology colleagues from the Wilmot Cancer Institute, recently awarded the National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation, to build a robust multidisciplinary cardio-oncology program.
  • Contribute to medical education through teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Pursue academic productivity in clinical, translational, or outcomes research in cardio-oncology.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent degree.
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in cardiovascular disease.
  • Additional fellowship training in cardio-oncology or demonstrated significant experience in cardio-oncology practice is strongly preferred.
  • Eligibility for a medical license in the state of New York.
  • Evidence of excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.

Division and Facilities

The Division of Cardiology includes over 79 faculty members with expertise in general cardiology, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, imaging, heart failure, cardio-oncology and more. The division supports four fellowship programs and is home to a new, dedicated 22-bed Cardiac ICU and a 23-bed Advanced Heart Failure Unit. A state-of-the-art cardiovascular tower is under construction and set to open in 2027.  Our Cardiac Care team provides over 180,000 outpatient visits annually throughout upstate New York.
