About Lorcan Ruane (BSc MBBS FRACP)
Dr Lorcan Ruane is a general cardiologist with specialisations in advanced echocardiography and cardio-oncology.
He is an IC-OS certified cardio-oncologist and his interests include immunotherapy toxicities, cardiotoxicity monitoring and survivorship.
Dr Ruane completed his undergraduate science degree at the University of Queensland and his medical degree at the University of Sydney. He was awarded university prizes and scholarships for research work. He then completed all his junior and physician training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) before proceeding to cardiology advanced training at both the RBWH and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH). After achieving his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Cardiology) Dr Ruane undertook sub-specialty training in advanced echocardiography at TPCH and then cardio-oncology at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK.
He has now returned to Brisbane, Australia, with plans to establish cardio-oncology clinics in both and public and private healthcare systems.
