About Vijay Rao, MD, PhD
Dr. Rao completed his MD and PhD at the Medical University of South Carolina, Internal Medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center, followed by Cardiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He is the Director of CardioOncology at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. He serves as Co-Chair of the IC-OS Center of Excellence Committee and is an active member of the IC-OS education committee. Under his leadership with his prior position at Franciscan Health, the CardioOncology program won the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) national Innovator Award in 2019 and was selected as an IC-OS Center of Excellence: Gold Status in 2022. He was also the lead author on a JACC: State of the Art Review on Cardiovascular Toxicity of Oral Antineoplastic Agents in 2021 and is the Immediate Past Governor of the Indiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and serves on the ACC CardioOncology National Leadership Council.
