About MD Andre Luis Camara Galvao

I am a cardiologist, certified by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC) and a preceptor for the cardiology residency program at Hospital Conceição (Grupo Hospitalar Conceição) in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. I completed postgraduate studies in cardio-oncology through Med.IQ/Brazilian Clinical Research Institute (BCRI) and the program offered by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC) in partnership with the National Cancer Institute (INC) and the National Institute of Cardiology (INCA). Both programs are recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
My main areas of expertise include heart failure, cardio-intensive care, and cardio-oncology.
In 2022, we launched a specialized cardio-oncology service at Hospital Conceição in Porto Alegre. This hospital, affiliated with Brazil's Ministry of Health, serves a significant portion of the population in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, particularly in the field of onco-hematology. This initiative represented a major advancement in providing care and support to cancer patients and conducting research in the field of cardio-oncology.
