2021 Virtual Cardio-Oncology Summit Abstract Form

We invite abstract submissions for the 2021 Virtual Cardio-Oncology Summit (VCOS) on the prevention, management and treatment of cardiac complications related to oncology therapy.

All successful abstracts will be published on the conference website. Authors will be notified if their abstract has been selected for inclusion in our virtual poster hall which will be available for viewing throughout the summit. Further instructions will be sent out to authors with successful abstracts prior to the meeting. The ICOS Scientific Committee and VCOS Planning Committee will review and select the abstracts for inclusion in the virtual summit.

 

Please submit the abstract submission form along with a copy of your abstract including title, authors, affiliated institutions, presenting author’s contact information and abstract character count by August 1, 2021.

    Responsibilities of Abstract Presenters

    Presenter will be the contact person for all correspondence about the abstract and will keep coauthors informed about its status. Presenter’s name and email address will be printed with the abstract in the conference program.Presenter accepts responsibility on behalf of all co-authors for permission to reproduce presentation.

    Permission to Reproduce Abstract

    All accepted abstracts, other than those that are withdrawn prior to publication and any that may have been accepted as a special late exception, will be published in the conference program. All reproductions shall be made only with appropriate acknowledgment of the Presenter as the author, and only with reference to presentation at the Virtual Cardio-Oncology Summit. No portion of the abstract shall be extracted for reproduction or publication by itself, unless specifically offered by the Presenter as a summary, overview, or abstract.

    Abstract Submission Instructions

    • DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME ON THE DOCUMENTS YOU SUBMIT

    • Abstracts must be in English.

    • There is no limit to the number of abstracts submitted.

    • There is no limit to the number of authors listed on an abstract.

    • The size limit for the abstract (including title, body, and tables) is 2000 characters. The
      character count does NOT include spaces, author names, or institutions.

    • Original research abstracts should include the following sections: background, methods, results,
      conclusion.

    • Case reports/Clinical decision-making abstracts should include the following sections:
      background, case, discussion.

    • Abstracts must be submitted electronically in word format upload here/below

    • Decision letters and presentation instructions are expected to be emailed to the Presenter (the
      contact person/first author listed) by August 15, 2021.

    • The conference does not provide support for abstract presenters, regardless of presentation
      outcome. Abstract presenters must register to attend the conference.

    2021 Virtual Cardio-Oncology Summit— Young Investigator Award

    The 2021 Virtual Cardio-Oncology Summit Young Investigator Award recognizes outstanding achievements by a young investigator at the early stage of their career in the field of cardiooncology. Three candidates will be selected to give an oral presentation during the Young Investigator Competition on October 1, 2021.

    Eligibility: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate program (i.e., MSc, PhD, MD) or junior faculty (within first 5 years), within a university, hospital or affiliated research institute at the time of application.

    Nomination material:

    One nomination letter (signed by a senior investigator)

    One letter of recommendation

    Current CV plus a complete list of all publications

    Candidates must be prepared to attend the virtual meeting and deliver a 10-minute presentation summarizing their work. The winner will be announced live at the end of the summit on October 1, 2021 and all finalists must be present to be eligible for the awards.

    Finalists will be determined by the ICOS Scientific Committee and VCOS Planning Committee.

    Application deadline is August 1, 2021.
