Advances in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and cancer have greatly reduced cancer-related mortality and significantly increased life expectancy. However, clinical studies conducted over the last two decades have shown that cardiovascular side effects of acute, early, or late (most of which can be prevented significantly if early intervention) occur due to radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, to improve short, medium and long-term quality of life in these patients. and duration of the study.
Cardiac toxicity, which requires a separate and complex algorithm, detailed clinical information, multidisciplinary collaboration, modern laboratory methods, imaging support and frequent follow-up, is one of the most important side effects seen after these treatments. Also; When adequate risk analysis or preventive measures are initiated, these vital treatments may be interrupted or incomplete due to side effects such as left ventricular dysfunction and arrhythmias.
Unfortunately, even international guidelines published in recent years have not been able to provide a permanent solution for the prediction, diagnosis, control intervals and treatment of this problem, which has an important share in mortality and morbidity.
